The "new" city school St. Gallen

An innovative pedagogical concept

The "free" city school St. Gallen is now the "new" city school. Not only by name but also concerning the building: In a unused, New Apostolic Church in St. Gallen was created room for 60 students / so -called learning partners and learning companions. The New City School follows the educational approach of Peter Fratton and Stefan Gander. "Undertaking" in all facets is in the foreground. The project is funded by the Würth family.

Dynamics and movement play an important role and are reflected in many round shapes. The environment of the city, including the Red Square as light accents or the labyrinthine , narrow streets were considered. In the new building a lot of space for new "things to be discovered" are available. Libraries on the gorund floor and so -called learning boxes (wood and glass construction) provide opportunities to retreat. In the rooms of the upper floor there is space for creative works such as music and art.
